The Local Lookout

Cedar Breaks National Monument

Hello and I hope that your weekend has gotten off to a FANTASTIC start! St George tends to be a place that is a bit on the warm side this time of year so this month’s Local Lookout features a place that is about an hour away and MUCH cooler.

Cedar Breaks National Monument is an hour’s drive away but a world apart. I go there to cool off in the summer, snowshoe in the winter, and stargaze year round. In the summer, camping, hiking, OHV touring, fishing, and sightseeing are common activities in or around the National Monument and this time of year is a great time to visit and see the wildflowers which are in full bloom.

Go for a Sunday drive, a weekend, or a late night to get a peek at the Milky Way from some of the darkest skies in the nation. This weekend, the highs are in the low 70’s so make sure to take advantage while the weather is great!

If you would like directions or further suggestions on what to do up there, please feel free to call or email as I would love to share what I know about the area! Thanks and have a great weekend!

Dave :)
